Your Tired Feet Need Some Relaxation? Four Reasons Why Your Next Foot Soak Should Include CBD Oil

February 17, 2021 by Carter Leave a Comment

Let’s be honest our feet do most of the work taking us from point A to B, and yet they tend to be the most neglected part of the body. Not anymore, soaking your feet in essential oils and salts mixed together with CBD oil could be the best way to experience the effects of CBD without ingesting or inhaling it. But what is CBD and how can it help to pamper your feet after a long day?

What Is CBD?

The buzz ingredient these days is the hemp extract, also known as cannabidiol or CBD. It is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. It can be found in either the hemp or marijuana plant; however, it is usually obtained from hemp to comply with requirements of containing only small traces of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the intoxicating compound found in the cannabis plants and responsible for causing a “high” or hallucinogenic effect.

Will CBD Get You High?

This is one of the most popular and essential questions, and the answer is no, CBD intake won’t cause a ‘high’. The industrial hemp used to make the best CBD products typically contains less than 0.2% of THC compound that is removed during extraction and filtration processes. This ensures that only trace amounts remain in the final product, which won’t cause intoxication and cannot be detected during a drug test. This way, you can enjoy all the potential benefits of CBD oil without the unwanted negative effects caused by a psychoactive THC cannabinoid.

How Does It Work?

Although the human skin has very low permeability, meaning it does not allow most substances to enter it. However, dissolving the CBD infused product into hot water and soaking your feet in it helps to speed up the absorption into the skin.

The warmth causes vasodilation, which is the widening of blood vessels, usually those close to the surface of the skin. This leads to increased blood flow resulting from the relaxation of muscle cells with vessel walls. The heat effects also work together with the relaxing, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects of CBD.

CBD absorbed through the skin does not reach the bloodstream but interacts with the nearby cannabinoid receptors. This method is ideal for providing more direct and localised relief through CBD to a target area, in this case, your feet.

Benefits Of Soaking Your Feet With CBD

You can experience CBD benefits during your foot soak through a process called dermal absorption. The skin soaks up all the salts, oils and CBD with all the minerals and cannabinoids that provide different benefits like:

Nourishment

The CBD foot soak is made to moisturise your feet from deep inside and provide the nourishment your feet need to stay healthy. The combination of ingredients during the foot soak works to encourage the growth, health and good condition of your skin and nails.

Helps To Relax

After a strenuous trip, extreme workout or particularly long, stressful day, soaking your feet with CBD oil can help soothe and restore wellness. While soaking your feet in warm water is already beneficial activity, adding a potent mix of CBD oil, salts and essential oils brings beneficial minerals and calming aromas that help you relax and unwind. Plus, using CBD massage oil for pain can aid in reducing muscle tension and addressing any discomfort you may feel.

Promote Better Sleep

The first thing most of us want to do after a long day is kick off our shoes and sleep. A study showed that soaking in warm water helps to fall asleep faster, deeper and longer. Warm water, in general, helps to calm the mind and body. Adding CBD, salts and essential oils will make it the best natural sleep aid.

Reduce Swelling & Odour

The ten-minute soak can provide much-needed comfort that helps reduce swelling. If you decide to add Dead Sea salts or Himalayan salts, the magnesium content can help to enable blood circulation, which then reduces swelling and relaxes the muscles. Also, the blend of essential oils and CBD oil helps detoxify and deodorise smelly feet with their wonderful natural aroma.
