If you answered that you greet your dog or cat first, you’re not alone as 48% of UK based pet owners greet their pet before their partner. A fact that may surprise you. Perhaps one reason why so many pet owners affectionately greet their pets first is that many pets such as dogs and cats will run up to the front door. In order to say hi to their owner.
Letting their pets climb on their furniture:
While some pet owners shoo their pets off their furniture other pet owners even let their pet have their own designated chair to nap on. While other pet owners prefer to snuggle up with their pets on a big sofa. What percentage of UK pet owners are content with their pets using their furniture? 57% of pet owners admitted to letting their pets sit on their furniture and claimed that their pet had its own designated spot to rest on.
Sharing food with their pets:
While some strict pet owners will only let their pet eat dog food other pet owners are more than happy to share their own food with their pets. In fact, it’s not unusual for a pet owner to feed their pet off their own plate. If you thought that you were a little strange sharing your food with your dog, think again. The majority of UK pet owners, 60% of pet owners admit to regularly sharing their own food with their pet. Although the percentage of individuals who are willing to let their dog lick their ice cream is probably a lot lower.
Tucking pets into bed:
Another habit which many pet owners share is tucking their pets into bed at night. So if you make sure that you say goodnight to your beloved pooch or your furry feline before you get ready for bed you’re not alone. As 40% of pet owners faithfully tuck their pets into bed before they go to sleep at night. However, not all pet owners sleep with their pets and 75% of pet owners revealed that they would rather sleep with their partner than their pet.
