Bali – A dream getaway: 6 Tips for your first trip to Bali

July 15, 2019 by Carter Leave a Comment

If you’re looking for a tranquil, relaxing vacation destination, you may be interested in flying to Indonesia – Bali, an island which features sandy beaches, world-class surfing spots, lush jungles, historic temples, and natural hot pools. If Bali sounds like your ideal travel destination, continue reading in order to discover everything you need to know to plan a relaxing, unforgettable Bali getaway and why you should book ground and sea transportation tickets online.

Bali – A dream getaway: 6 Tips for your first trip to Bali

1. Make sure to visit the historic Uluwatu Temple

The Uluwatu Temple is a Hindu temple perched on top of a 70-meter sea cliff and is one of six Balinese temples which are referred to as Bali’s six spiritual pillars. Uluwatu’s inner sanctum is located outdoors on the very edge of the temple’s sea cliff and is where regular Hindu rituals are performed.

2. It’s well worth booking a surfing lesson or renting a surfboard for the day

If you’ve been surfing for years, it’s well worth renting a surfboard from a surf shack on one of Bali’s iconic surf beaches such as Padang Padang Beach, Medewi Beach or Keramas Beach. If you’ve never surfed before and you’re looking for a calm, sheltered beach to learn how to surf, head to Uluwatu Beach, where you’ll be able to book a beginners surf lesson.

3. Think twice about renting a scooter to get around Bali

While many international tourists choose to rent inexpensive scooters to get around Bali, most injuries which tourists sustain in Bali are caused by scooter accidents. As the locals in Bali don’t adhere to road rules and are notorious for speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road. So if you’re not confident about navigating busy, chaotic roads, it may be better to hire a taxi to get around Bali.

4. You can see wild monkeys up close at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary

Many visitors to Bali are surprised to learn that there are wild monkeys in Bali. The best place to see monkeys up close is the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, where you’ll find troops of cheeky Balinese long-tailed monkeys.

5. If you need to cool off spend an afternoon at Waterbom Bali

Waterbom Bali is a world-class waterpark which features death-defying water slides as well as more sedate waterslides and a lazy river. As well as plenty of pools. So if you get overwhelmed by Bali’s heat and humidity, it’s well worth spending a few hours at Waterbom Bali, which is conveniently located in Kuta.

6. Get out of Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach is one of the most visited beaches in Bali and is lined with bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. While spending a day exploring Kuta Beach is a great idea, it’s also a great idea to get outside Kuta in order to explore everything that Bali has to offer.

So if you love the idea of exploring temples, forests, and beaches and are well overdue for a relaxing, rejuvenating beach vacation, do yourself a favor and start planning a trip to Bali, Indonesia.
