How exciting it is to know that the next-door house being vacant for a few months is now occupied. Finally, you will have a neighbor you can visit if you are bored or you can make a new friend who will join you for a weekend barbecue. But of course, as someone who is in the village for a long time, it is somehow your responsibility to extend your warmest welcome.
It may be your first time having a new neighbor hence you have no idea how to make the right approach. To help you with it, below are some of the things you can do to make your welcome greeting look natural and genuine.
Ways To Give Your Neighbor A Good Welcome
If you are in the middle of doing your favorite activities, like playing slots on your phone on websites such as Slot Boss, or cross stitching, or watching your most awaited series it is best if you pause for a while and prepare something for your new neighbor who might be waiting for someone to knock on their door to introduce themselves.
Bringing something is not necessary but surely a good way to welcome your new neighbors with more swag.
Bake them homemade treats
Give them something straight from your oven, it can be a cake, cookies or something else. If you are not into baking, you may want to cook your specialty instead. Of course, your new neighbor would greatly appreciate your efforts and it would make them feel valued, making them easy to open up and be more comfortable in their new neighborhood.
Welcome them with a bottle of wine
If you are really not good at either baking or cooking, you can bring them a bottle of wine. The bottle of wine signifies that you are welcome to have more intimate conversations with them. You can go for either white or red wine, whatever pleases you to give is okay.
Consolidate in notebook all best places to visit near your neighborhood
Just to make them more excited on their move, introduce them to beautiful places in and near your neighborhood. You can create a diary-like notebook where you can write down all places you think they should visit.
If you have the time to spare, you can tour them around but if you are working, you can let them know you are available to accompany them when your time permits for now, they can visit places in the area with their family.
Make sure that clear directions are given so they won’t get lost.
Deliver some herbs, flowers, vegetables and/or fruits
If you have a garden and you are planting herbs, vegetables, fruits and/or flowers, why not pick some of it and place it in a nice container, then deliver it to your next door neighbor. This action is really kind and sweet.
Make your neighbor feel welcome, they need it a lot as they adjust and adopt in their new environment.
