I was leafing through a fitness forum recently and I was caught by a thread which was talking about how much fitness should cost. The beginning of the thread was about the Charles D’Angelo fees which he charges and how compared to the rest of the fitness industry they are very low for the professionalism and the support which he offers. It seems, at least from the thread, that the cost of health and fitness is something which people have very different opinions on. This is why today I want to take a look into what your health and fitness should be costing you.
What Do You Have?
The honest answer when it comes to how much you should pay for fitness comes down to what you have to spend, and that is all. We can talk for hours and hours about how much gyms charge and how much they should charge, but at the end of the day it is going to be the people who have the money who spend it.
The important thing to remember here is that it is not just about how much money you spend on fitness that makes the difference, it is about how well you do it and how you plan for it. A rich person is not healthier and fitter than a poorer person simply because they have more money, fitness and being health conscious is down to the knowledge you have and how hard you are prepared to work.
Upselling
The danger which many have is that they spend over the odds for their fitness and healthy lifestyle and that is much of the reason why so many believe that spending big money is the only way to get fit. Gyms are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to charging for fitness, there are also supplements companies, equipment manufacturers and even clothing companies who are all more than ready to convince you that the only way in which you are going to get fit is for you to let them take your eyeballs out.
Free Workouts
Food is always going to cost money, unless you grow your own of course, and there is little evidence suggesting that a bad diet and a healthy diet cost any different. Of course it may well be that you can’t afford to buy the very best healthy foods and supplements, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still eat healthily. When it comes to exercise you don’t need to spend any money at all on going to the gym because there are hundreds of workouts which you can do without paying a single gym membership. You can also get outside and go for a run and you will be able to urn a huge amount of calories.
Is fitness too expensive? The answer to that question is no, a fit person can be rich or poor and still be in great shape.
